Tendonitis
Hong is an amazing, caring practitioner who is very knowledgeable about the science of acupuncture. I am a performing musician who has had recurring tendonitis in my thumb, and she was able to clear it up in just a few sessions. She followed up with me between sessions, and gave me herbal treatments to do at home. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for high-quality acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She's even made a convert out of my fiance who had never had acupuncture before. He was skeptical before going, but was so impressed with his first session with Hong, that he just booked his second treatment. We love her! :o)

Hip pain for YEARS
This place is great! I love Dr. Shang! I have been having terrible hip pain for YEARS and feel so much better after only two treatments. The office is convenient and the atmosphere is so comfortable. I really like the pay-what-you-can system. You pay by putting money in a box, so the whole money thing is totally private and low-stress. You will feel so grateful to Dr. Shang that you will want to pay her as much as you can afford!

Lyme disease
I got Lyme Disease about 2 1/2 years ago and since then my immune system has been on a huge downward spiral...I went to every doctor possible but all the meds they put me on just seemed to make everything worse. Some days I couldn't even get out of bed. Since I started acupuncture I'm finally starting to feel better, it's not immediate but over time I feel my body getting stronger. So I'm definitely a big supporter!!

Chronic foot pain
I began looking into acupuncture a couple of months ago when my chronic foot pain (arthritis, compressed nerves, bones growing wrong, etc) started getting really bad to the point where I was limping all day long. Initially I thought I would have to give up on the idea of acupuncture and go the typical medical route because my insurance didn't cover acupuncture and I couldn't afford the fees I was being quoted by other practitioners. I luckily came across the Clove tree Acupuncture site, where there is a sliding scale, and it was definitely affordable for me. I was even happier after I met Zhihong and found her to be extremely professional, knowledgeable, and so very warm and nice. After the second treatment I noticed a difference. The pain fluctuated for several treatments, but then began to get better and better after each treatment (and I've had this pain on and off for at least 7 years). It has now been days since I've had the pain, and believe me, I am not very nice to my feet. I do intense exercise 5 days a week at a "boot camp", and walk several hours per week as well. I am VERY pleased with this success.

Itchy skin
I went to Zhihong Shang with a skin condition. The skin on my legs and arms was terribly itchy and it was thickening. I had seen my primary care physician who prescribed creams and treatments that did not help. Finally I went to see Hong and after the very first appointment my symptoms subsided. Hong used a combination of acupuncture and cupping. After three appointments, my skin condition was cleared up completely and I felt so good. Hong is a remarkable practitioner. She listens deeply and compassionately and helped my body regain full health. I recommend Hong very highly.

Face pain
Another highly effective treatment
All of my treatments at Clove Tree have been highly effective, but this one stands out for the amazing relief it gave me. The entire right side of my face was in severe pain due to my need for a root canal, and the discomfort had been steadily increasing for about two weeks. After I described my situation (waiting for insurance, like so many of us these days) Zhihong asked a few questions about the location of my discomfort and went to work. It has been two weeks now, and while I still need the root canal, I have been pain free right up until today.

lack of energy/ insomnia
Acupuncture helped me with lack of energy and sleepless nights. It did wonders to me. I'm off all my prescribed medications and feel wonderful! I adore Zhihong! She was the first person to ask me so many details about my heath. After 3 sessions I slept like a baby and my energy level went up. She treats people with so many different conditions. Everyone should try acupuncture at least once in their life to believe in what's been known for centuries.

Back pain / digestion issues
I have been receiving acupuncture from Hong for the past 6 months for back pain and digestion issues. She is a compassionist and knowledgeable healer. After 1 1/2 years with continual back pain and countless visits to doctors, she has completely stopped the back discomfort and has improved my digestion greatly. I continue to go for weekly visits for other issues. I feel refreshed, relaxed, more focused and at peace. I highly recommend this type of treatment. You won't be disappointed.
